Question 2: Create.

(a) Create your own piecewise-defined function to model a real-life situation such as your commute, a monthly salary (example #9, and problem #87 on page 212) or a cell phone plan (problem #88 page 212). Mathematics Homework Help. Carroll Community College How Many Calories Do You Eat in A Day Essay

Topic: How many Calories do you eat a day?

According to an article written by Yvette Brazier, “If we consistently take in more energy than we need, we will gain weight. If we take in too little energy, we will lose weight, fat, and eventually muscle mass.” (Brazier, 2018) (https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/245588#_noHeaderPrefixedContent)

Introduction: Write an introduction stating/identifying the following. You must answer the questions thoroughly and in paragraph form.

  • Discuss the topic above. Identify who your intended population will be.
  • Describe the process in which you are going to collect your data. Include in the description a discussion of your data collection (survey, observational, simulation, etc.) and sampling method(s) you used (random, convenience, cluster, etc.).
  • Discuss the article and how it relates to your intended population.
  • Revisit this section in Part 4, Hypothesis Testing. Discuss how your statistics compare to those found in the article that you were either given or researched. Use the article mean value to make a claim. Remember that your claim can be less, equal to, not equal to, or more than the article value. Discuss why you believe your claim to be true.

Mathematics Homework Help. WCC Sample Mean Sample Standard Deviation & Descriptive Statistics Worksheet

Statistics Project – Part 2

This project is designed for a student to demonstrate their ability to:

  1. organize and summarize data using a grouped frequency table;
  2. construct graphic summaries of data;
  3. compute descriptive statistics on a data set;
  4. conduct a hypothesis test on a data set.

In this second part, you’ll compute descriptive statistics on the data set you chose in part 1, and complete a hypothesis test.

Step 1: Take a Sample

  • From the data set you chose in Part 1, randomly select 36 data values and enter them into a 6×6 table in your document – label this table with a description of what the data represents.

Step 2: Compute Descriptive Statistics

  • Compute the mean and standard deviation for the sample of 36 values.

Step 3: Perform a Hypothesis Test

  • Copy the statement you made about estimating the mean of the data set in Step 4 of Part 1.
  • That statement is what you will base your hypothesis test on – you will test that prediction/estimation
    • State the level of confidence you have decided to use for the test
    • State the null H0 and alternative H1 hypotheses with BOTH words and symbols. (If you don’t know how to get a symbol like μ or other symbols into your document file, please Google how to do it).
    • State whether the test is left-, right- or two-tailed
    • State whether you need to use the normal (z) or Student’s t-distribution and why. If Student’s t, also state the degrees of freedom.
    • Compute the test statistic and p-value.
    • In one or two complete sentences, explain what the p-value means for this test.
    • Use the above information to sketch a picture of this test on the curve below– the rejection region(s) and where the test statistic is in relationship to the rejection region(s).
      BellCurve.jpg
    • Decision and Conclusion: Indicate the correct decision (“reject” or “do not reject” the null hypothesis), the reason for it, and write an appropriate conclusion about your claim using complete sentences. Include all three of the following
      • Alpha:
      • Decision and reason for it:
      • Conclusion:

Step 4: Create, Complete, Save, and Submit your Part 2 Project File

  • Create a file in your favorite word processing software like Word or Google Docs, or Pages.
  • Save the file with the following format LastnameFirstnamePart2Spring21 (For example: SmithJoePart2Spring21)
  • At the top of the first page, type your name and describe the data set you are analyzing.
  • Include all the information requested in steps 1-3.
  • Save the file as a PDF – this is the only file type accepted.
  • Upload the file as a submission

Mathematics Homework Help. Argosy University Week 7 Data Summary for The Variance Analysis Worksheet

Part one

For this assignment, use data you downloaded in your W1 Project.

Suppose you have information that the average stress score of students in online universities is 13.15.

Using Microsoft Excel, compute a one-sample t-test to find out whether the stress scores reported by your sample are significantly different from those of the population of online students.

Move your output into a Microsoft Word document.

  1. Write one paragraph to explain how you located and determined the critical value of t, and how you determined whether your obtained t-statistic was significant.
  2. Write a 1-paragraph, APA-formatted interpretation of the results modeled on the example given in your lecture.

Part 2

For this assignment, use data from W1 Project.

This week, you will first look to see whether the type of information participants were given, whether consistent or inconsistent with what they viewed in the video, has a bearing on confidence. You will next explore the hypothesis that memory may decay over time.

1. Choose and calculate the appropriate t-test to compare the confidence of participants given consistent feedback with those given inconsistent feedback.

a. Move your output into a Microsoft Word document and write an interpretation of your test following the data output in one paragraph. Be sure to use APA format and write a formal report modeled on the examples given in your lecture.

2. Choose and calculate the appropriate t-test to compare Recall 1 with Recall 3.

a. Move your output into a Microsoft Word document and write an interpretation of your tested following the data output in one paragraph. Be sure to use APA format and write a formal report modeled on the examples given in your lecture.

Do not take this question if you are not good with excel or statistics!!!!
